I never think it is a good idea to move somewhere without a job so I would find one first if I were you. Generally, IT has taken a huge hit here in the recession, but of course, for certain skill sets, there are exceptions.

)I can't speak of the dating scene since I am married but I am in IT. I see things out there just depends what you area you work in. You can easily see what is available as far as jobs by setting up job alerts for yourself -- for specific job titles -- with the major job websites as well as contacting local employment agencies.

Contrary to previous posts, the dating scene is good in the Carrboro/Chapel Hill area. There are plenty of places to go out, a lot of activities (live music, good shows, comedy club, etc) and as its a college town you stand a very good chance of finding someone that you can actually have a conversation with.
